Energy Tips
Tip 1 - Set your thermostat as low as is comfortable in the winter and as high as is comfortable in the summer.
Tip 2 - Don't set your thermostat at a colder setting than normal when you turn on your air conditioner. It will not cool your home any faster and could result in excessive cooling and, therefore, unnecessary expense.
Tip 3 - Don't place lamps or TV sets near your air-conditioning thermostat. The thermostat senses heat from these appliances, which can cause the air conditioner to run longer than necessary.
Tip 4 - Clean or replace filters on furnaces once a month or as needed.
Tip 5 - Clean warm-air registers, baseboard heaters, and radiators as needed; make sure they're not blocked by furniture, carpeting, or drapes.
Tip 6 - During the heating season, keep the draperies and shades on your southfacing windows open during the day to allow the sunlight to enter your home and closed at night to reduce the chill you may feel from cold windows.
Tip 7 - During the cooling season, keep the window coverings closed during the day to prevent solar gain.

Cooling Season Planned Maintenance
Factory trained Service Technicians will provide the following:
13 point precision tune-up and professional cleaning services.
13 point precision tune-up and professional cleaning services.
Clean or Replace Filters: A dirty air filter will reduce the air flow, resulting in inefficient cooling, reduced cooling capacity, poor air filtration, and higher electric bills. Dirty filters also shorten the life of your air conditioner.
If Accessible, Check and Clean Inside Cooling Coil: Foreign material on the coil reduces the system’s ability to cool adequately, so your air conditioning system must run longer, increasing energy consumption and raising your cooling costs.
Clean Primary and Secondary Drains: A clogged condensate drain can cause considerable water damage and will increase humidity levels.
Install Algae Tablets: Algae tablets are used to prevent the growth of mildew on the coils and in the drain pan of the air conditioner, and to reduce the risks of condensate water drain problems.
Monitor Air Conditioning Cycle: Our trained Technician will assure that the air conditioner is cycling on and off properly.
Check and Clean Condenser Coil: Foreign material on the condenser coil reduces the systems’ cooling capacity to remove heat. A dirty coil will increase your cooling cost by 30% or more, and can shorten the life of your air conditioner.
Adjust and Clean Blower Components: Proper adjustment and cleanliness of blower and components is necessary for adequate air flow to assure maximum cooling performance.
Check Operation Pressures for Proper Refrigeration Charge: Improper refrigerant charges – too much or too little can damage the compressor, and will cause high electric bills, and reduced cooling capacity due to inefficient equipment operation.
Monitor Voltage and Amperage Draw on All Motors: Motors are designed to operate at standard voltage and amperage draw. By measuring amperage draw, problems can be identified before unit fails.
Lubricate All Moving Parts Where Applicable: Poor lubrication causes drag in the motor and drive shaft, thereby – requiring more electricity to overcome resistance. This condition will cause early motor or bearing failure.
Check and Tighten All Loose Electrical Connections: Loose electrical connections are a common source of problems which cause your electric parts to fail and your air conditioner to become inoperative
Apply Protective Coating To The Outside Unit: This protective coating will extend the life of the outdoor cabinet, as well as improve its appearance.
Clean and Adjust Thermostat: To ensure even temperature control for your environment.

Clean and Checks Conserve Cash and Save Lives
*Most people already know that tuning up a car improves gas mileage. But did you know the same holds true for your heating and cooling system? How long has it been since your units have been professionally cleaned and tuned up?
*If it’s been more than a year, you could be throwing money out the window. Heating and cooling systems lose efficiency when dirty or out of tune, and that loss hits you right in the utility bill.
*You could also be placing your family in danger. Gas furnaces, when old, can develop cracks through which carbon monoxide leaks out. Colorless, odorless and tasteless, the gas can be deadly.
Consider the following: *Contractors estimate that 70% to 95% of all repairs they perform could have been avoided with regular maintenance. With average repair bills in some areas as high as $300, maintenance is cheap in comparison.
*Contractors estimate that heating and cooling equipment will last 20% to 30% longer with yearly maintenance. How often do you want to replace your heating and cooling system?
*Air conditioning systems can lose up to 30% of their efficiency without maintenance. In fact, just 1/100
*Heating systems can lose up to 10% of their efficiency without proper cleaning and tuning. Multiply your heating bill by 0.16 to see how much money can go up in smoke each month.
*A trained professional is the only one who can tell you whether your furnace’s heat exchanger is cracked. Those cracks allow carbon monoxide to leak, and potentially fill your home with deadly gas.
*If done properly, the annual cleaning and tune up will add years to the life of your system while protecting your pocketbook and your family from unexpected surprises th of an inch of dirt on your indoor coils alone can increase your cooling bills by 5%.

I was extremely pleased with the service I received from Airmax! Starting and ending with the ladies in your office, Donna and Stacy were very helpful and understanding and above all, they made me feel like I was not just another customer and that I was important. Your techs were thorough and professional. Each of your staff, including a manager, Scott, helped guide me through the quagmire that is dealing with American Homeshield. Though AHS would only pay for a now defunct R-22 unit, your techs offered additional options as well as a service plan. I am a General Contractor and well aware of construction costs/values and what it costs for equipment, tools to do the job, materials and supplies for the job and most important, what it costs to pay skilled technicians/craftsman to do the job right the first time. I apologize to Airmax for having had to accept the ridiculous offer from AHS. We all took a bath on this job. I always believe in the old saying that "what goes around comes around". AHS will pay for their decision to go around the EPA mandate. Airmax, because of the fine service you provide your customers, you will continue to prosper. You certainly have my blessings and recommendations.
Sincerely,
Bill Hall
